Just last week it was revealed that directing duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller were fired from the the upcoming Han Solo flick. Then, in a matter of days, Ron Howard was announced as the movie’s new director.

But it seems that not only were Phil Lord and Chris Miller fired, but an editor was also fired. On top of all the firings, there was a last-minute hire – an acting coach.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, after the film began production in May, the location was moved from London to the Canary Islands, editor Chris Dickens (Macbeth) was replaced by Pietro Scalia (Alien: Covenant).

It is also reported that Lucasfilm was ‘not entirely satisfied’ with Alden Ehrenreich’s portrayal of the title character and hired an acting coach to work with him. Although hiring an acting coach for the set is typical, but this far into production it is very uncommon.

The film was set to wrap production in July, but due to all the production strife the schedule has been altered. Production will now resume in July and finish in September. This is key as two of the film’s stars, Donald Glover and Emilia Clarke have television commitments they must return to for the fall.

As of right now, the studio is still aiming to be ready for their proposed May 2018 release date. But only time will tell.
