Queen Latifah’s newest role will be completely different from her part in last year’s hit comedy Girl’s Trip. She will be starring in an upcoming movie titled Hope’s Wish—an inspirational drama that’s based on a true story. Alcon Entertainment (Blade Runner 2049) and Walden Media will collaborate on the film, with Laurie Collyer directing. Production is set to start April 9 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The film will be an adaptation of the bookHope’s Wish: How One Girl’s Dream Made Others Come True, by authors Shelby and Stuart Stout. It follows the story of 12-year-old Hope Stout when she was diagnosed with a life-threatening disease, and sets out to fund the wishes of 155 other terminally-ill kids. She accomplishes this with the help of a Make-A-Wish Foundation executive Toni Dubois (Latifah) and the community in Charlotte.

It will be released by Warner Bros. via Alcon’s output deal, with Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson as executive producers. A release date has not yet been announced.
