It seems like we’ll have to wait a little longer to see Pacific Rim: Uprising, again.

Legendary and Universal, both studios are producing the film, had originally planned to release the film in April 7, 2017, later moving that date to August 4, 2017 to finally settling for a release date of February 23, 2018.

This new change of date is not as drastic as the others, since the movie is being pushed only by a month, now setting to premiere on March 23.

The sequel stars John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as Jake Pentecost, the son of Stacker Pentecost (Idris Elba in the first film), Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) as Dr. Newton Geiszler, Burn Gorman (Game of Thrones) as Dr. Hermann Gottlieb, Rinko Kikuchi (Babel) as Mako Mori and Scott Eastwood (The Fate of the Furious) as Nate Lambert. It will be set ten years after Pacific Rim.

Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus) serves as the director for this film. Guillermo del Toro will now be a producer.

With this new date, the film will face competition with Robin Hood from Lionsgate, Action Point and Sherlock Gnomes fromParamount, and an untitled animated movie from Fox and Blue Sky.
