We will soon witness the 13th doctor in action and for the first time in Doctor Who lore, the Doctor will be portrayed by a woman.
Jodie Whittaker, will take up the mantle as the next Doctor in the show’s upcoming season. In attendance at San Diego Comic Con today, the actress called portraying the Doctor as “liberating” during the Doctor Who panel.
Along with the panel, a new trailer and new still images from the long-running series were shared via the BBC Doctor Who Twitter page. Click here to see the images and check out the latest trailer below:

In addition to the new media releases, it was also confirmed that the new Doctor will get her own Christmas Special.
