Netflix 2025 releases just dropped, and the rest of the year is shaping up to be one of the streamer’s biggest yet. The upcoming slate promises something for everyone, from blockbuster films to returning fan-favourite series, innovative live events, and exclusive gaming deals.

At a special event held at the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles (streamed live in 12 countries) Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria outlined the company’s bold vision for the future. Special guests including Guillermo del Toro, Ben Affleck, John Mulaney, Tina Fey, the Duffer Brothers, and WWE superstars CM Punk and Rhea Ripley joined the presentation, teasing major projects on the horizon.

If 2024 was a big year for Netflix, we might have to start calling Netflix big back in 2025, as it looks to be even bigger. Here’s everything coming to Netflix next year—including new films, returning favourites, live events, and gaming expansions.

Netflix 2025 Releases: Everything You Need to Know

Netflix is rolling out a mix of high-profile original films, prestige series, and compelling documentaries that are bound to dominate conversations.

Major Film Announcements

Frankenstein (November 2025): A longtime passion project from the visionary filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, who described it as an “autobiographical” take on the classic monster story.

RIP (Fall 2025): Ben Affleck and Matt Damon reunite in a gripping crime thriller that Affleck called “a fun, engaging ride that keeps you guessing.”

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery (Fall 2025): The next chapter in Rian Johnson’sKnives Out saga, once again starring Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc.

Kathryn Bigelow’s Untitled Film (Fall 2025): The Oscar-winning director is back with a mystery project set to hit later in the year.

Fear Street: Prom Queen (Summer 2025): A new entry in the Fear Street horror franchise.

The Old Guard 2: Andy and her team of immortal warriors return to protect humanity from a formidable new enemy threatening their existence.

Squid Game (S3, June 27): The global phenomenon continues, with an official release date locked in.

Ginny & Georgia (S3, June 5) – The mother-daughter dramedy returns.

Netflix Expands Live & Interactive Content

Netflix is going all-in on live entertainment, bringing major new shows and events to the platform:

  • Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney (March 12) – A no-holds-barred live late-night series premiering globally with no delay.
  • Temptation Island(March 12) – The dating reality show comes to Netflix.
  • TUDUM Global Fan Event (May 31) – Streaming live from Los Angeles, promising major reveals and exclusive sneak peeks.

Netflix is also introducing a new voting feature, allowing viewers to cast votes live from their screens—setting up opportunities for more interactive programming.

Netflix’s Growing Gaming Universe

In a major step forward for gaming, Netflix will become the exclusive mobile home for WWE 2K video games starting in Fall 2025.

Additionally, Netflix Stories will expand with new games based on popular shows like:

  • Ginny & Georgia
  • Sweet Magnolias
  • Love Is Blind
  • A new Outer Banks adventure

The gaming division is also riding high off the success of Squid Game: Unleashed, which is on pace to become Netflix’s most-downloaded game ever.

American Manhunt: Osama Bin Laden (Documentary series, March 10): A new look at the decade-long hunt for the world’s most wanted man.

Chaos: The Manson Murders (Documentary film, March 7): Examining one of U.S. history’s most infamous crime stories.

Netflix’s 2025 slate is massive, diverse, and ambitious. As Bela Bajaria put it: “We’re not just one thing. We’re the best of film, TV, documentaries, stand-up, animation, and live events.
