Women are leading the way into space as CBS cast AMC’s “Walking Dead” actress Sonequa Martin-Green as lead in the upcoming Star Trek: Discovery. Martin-Green will be playing Lieutenant Commander of the USS Discovery. “Star Trek: Discovery” will focus on Martin- Green’s character “Number One” and her relationship with the crew and captain.
Martin- Green will be joining fellow crew members Michelle Yeoh, Doug Jones and Anthony Rapp, who has been announced to play Han Bo, Lt. Saru and Lt. Stamets respectively. As well Chris Obi, Mary Chieffo and Shazad Latif who will be playing the notorious Kligons in this rendition of Star Trek.
According the ew.com Sonequa Martin-Green will continue to bless our television by continuing to be a regular on AMC’s “Walking Dead.”
Star Trek: Discovery is scheduled to premiere in May 2017 on CBS. The premiere and its future episodes set to be streamed exclusively on CBS All Access.
