On The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Oscar-winning actress, Marisa Tomei revealed that she wanted to play an older version of Aunt May, one more similar to what readers of the comic book series and past films were used to.
In the interview with Colbert, Tomei told the host:
“You can imagine my horror when I was cast and I started doing the research, but then I thought ‘well, I’m going to go with it.’ And I actually made a case to go, to age me up, but no they didn’t do it.”

While her casting is quite different than the past actresses who portrayed Aunt May (Rosemary Harris and Sally Field), it’s great to see that she did her research and did make a case to have herself aged to fit the comics and the past films.
