Dewanda Wise had to unfortunately drop out of her role in the upcoming Marvel film Captain Marvel due to scheduling conflicts for her lead role in the Netflix series She’s Gotta Have It. But now THR is reporting that English actress Lashana Lynch is in final negotiations to replace wise in the mysterious role.
This role will serve as Lynch’s biggest role to date but you may recognize her from the short lived Shonda Rhimes produced show Still Star-Crossed as well as roles in Indie feature films like Brotherhood and Powder Room.
We are sad to see Dewanda leave the role but are even more ecstastic to welcome a talented, fresh face to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Lynch joins a star studded cast led by Oscar winner Brie Larson, Jude Law and Ben Mendelsohn.
