This week Sony Pictures announced that remake of their supernatural thriller The Crow starring Jason Mamoa will release on October 11, 2019.

The new Crow will be a more faithful adaptation to James O’Barrs indie comic classic published back in 1986.

The Crow tells the story of a man who is brought back to life after the his and his girlfriends brutal murder and his quest to avenge their lives. The original film became a cult classic due to its unique style, special effects and the fact the film’s director, Brandon Lee, passed away on set due to an accidental gunshot wound on set.

According to reports, Martin Van Broekhuizen will be shooting the film along side Alex Cameron and Raymond Gieringer who will be serving as the production director and the VFX supervisor respectively.
