HBO has announced that for the upcoming Game of Thrones spinoff series, none of the existing characters will be present.
IGN reports that during the Television Critics Association press tour, HBO president Casey Bloy confirmed that nones that “none of the Game of Thrones spinoff shows that are currently being considered include characters from the current show”.
There is a total of four potential Game of Thrones prequel series on the table, each with different writers and each set during various times within George R. R. Martin’s universe. Of these four, some of the stories that can be considered are “the Dunk and Egg novellas, which are set about a century before the events of Game of Thrones” or a series based on Robert’s Rebellion.
