Acclaimed comic writer, Gail Simone, will be writing a six-issue Plastic Man miniseries for DC Comics that will release in June. Simone will be reuniting with Adriana Melo, who was her artist for her acclaimed Birds of Prey, Rose and Thorn series.
According to Gail Simone Plastic Man has already been written and has a”nicely contained story that’s a lot of fun and creepy, too…and this book has sort of a ’40s-style glamour to it. It’s updated a bit.” She has explained that her interest in Plastic Man comes from his unique humor and look on life. She stated, “he was genuinely the first funny super hero. I”m obviously attracted to that. There’s also this great mixture of tragedy in there, too, that I love. The humor comes from a place of pain.”
