News isn’t promising for fans still in hopes that Zack Snyder’s coveted cut of Justice League will see the light of day. In the days following the film’s November 17 opening, a petition was launched in an effort to sway Warner Bros. into releasing Snyder’s cut to the masses. A few days thereafter, however, news emerged that no such version of Justice League actually exists. Interestingly, another report is now suggesting the same.
Mario-F. Robies, a “freelance writer and scooper” for IGN and The Splash Report, per his Twitter bio, claims to have received information regarding the state of Snyder’s cut (via ScreenRant). Apparently, there only exists an “assembly cut;” therefore, completing the film as intended would cost WB millions of dollars.

Perhaps the most telling tidbit is the suggestion that the studio no longer has faith in Snyder’s vision. What this means for the DCEU going forward remains to be seen, as it’s still difficult to discern what plans in the film slate and narrative are by the director’s design.
