We called it! As action packed as this movie is its safe to say that with a $250M budget this film was going to bring in the big bucks. Universal’s 8th installment of the action/crime/racing/fighting/cars falling out of the sky-drama franchise came just as hard in its second week in theaters overseas as it did opening weekend in the US.

With an opening weekend of over $400 million, the domestic sales slipped about 61% this weekend but still seeing box office success going up against the likes of Fox’s Boss Baby, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast & Born in China. Still, the overseas sales carried this movie to the top with about $744.8M. That brings us to a grand total of a whopping $908.4M in sales! There’s no doubt that it’ll cross the $1 billion dollar mark sometime this week and I don’t see the franchise putting the brakes on just yet.

Fate Of The Furious is directed by F. Gary Gray (The Italian Job) and stars Vin Diesel, Charlize Theron, Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and Scott Eastwood.

Be sure to catch Fate of the Furious in theaters now, if you can keep up! Check out our review here.
