The Marvel Cinematic Universe is known for delivering unbelievable adventures on the big screen. But before The Fantastic Four: First Steps flies into theaters, the franchise will pay tribute to the comic books that inspired the action seen in cinemas. Marvel will launch a prequel comic to this summer’s blockbuster titled “Fantastic Four: First Steps #1”. The movie directed by Matt Shakman won’t be an origin story. Instead, this comic book will be the one to depict how this new iteration of the classic team came to be. Marvel’s First Family gets to live out their origin story once again in this title that will be launched on July 2.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps will introduce the titular team to audiences from all over the world. Unlike movies such as Avengers: Endgame and Captain America: Brave New World, the upcoming film will take place in a different timeline than the one viewers are used to. Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) will try to use their powers to protect the people of Earth. But when a massive threat arrives from outer space, the team will do everything in their power to keep their world from being destroyed.

Matt Fraction and Mark Buckingham will be the artists behind “Fantastic Four: First Steps #1”. The writer is known for his popular “Hawkeye” run from a few years ago, which eventually served as the inspiration for the Disney+ television series focused on the Avenger played by Jeremy Renner. Buckingham previously worked as an illustrator in books such as “Hellblazer” and “The Sandman”. This comic book will set the stage for the cinematic adventure that will introduce a new generation of fans to some of the most important characters in the history of Marvel.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps premieres in theaters on July 25.
