There has been some speculation that the next Star Wars anthology might focus on Obi Wan Kenobi and Ewan McGregor shared with Entertainment Weekly that he would ‘happily’ play the Jedi knight once again.

During the interview, the McGregor said:

“There’s no official offer, and I haven’t met them about it or anything. But I’ve always said that I’d be happy to do it if they wanted to do it.”

And although the actor seems keen on reprising the role, he also expressed feelings that it will not happen anytime soon- if it ever happens at all. He told EW:

“It would be a good segue between the last episode of the prequels and the new episodes. I think they’ve got films to make until the 2020s, so I don’t think it’s going to happen soon if it happens at all.”

LucasFilm producer, Kathy Kennedy has yet to reveal any hints as to which other characters aside from Han Solo will be receiving the anthology treatment. But when chatting with MTV recently, she did say that there might be some new news to share when summer hits.

Until then, we will just have to wait and see!
