2018 has been a good year for Henry Golding. Not only is he starring in Monsoonand A Simple Favor, but the Crazy Rich Asians leading man has also been cast as Emilia Clarke’s love interest in Universal’s Last Christmas.
The film’s plot is yet to be revealed, but we do know that it is a holiday romance set in London. Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, Ghostbusters, A Simple Favor) will be helming the project, making this his second collaboration with Golding. Emma Thompson and Bryony Kimmings are writing the script, and Thompson will also be producing alongside David Livingstone.

Golding’s breakout role in Crazy Rich Asians has skyrocketed him into international fame. It’s no surprise he is starring in another romance story, considering that Crazy Rich Asians had the no. 1 spot at the box office for three weeks in a row, becoming the top-grossing comedy at the domestic box office in two years.

Clarke currently plays Daenerys Targaryen in HBO’s Game of Thrones and will finish production on the hit show in 2019. She recently appeared on the big screen as Q’ira in Solo: A Star Wars Story.
