Since the Black Panther solo film was announced, fans have been waiting anxiously for the arrival of February 2018. With the new year almost upon us, the wait is nearly over and the early box office tracking projections have begun.

As of right now, the early tracking suggests that Black Panther is on its way to a $90 million opening weekend, keeping it on par with other MCU debut films such as, Iron Man and Guardians of the Galaxy.

However, the tracking is subject to change as early reactions and reviews of the film start being released. But in any case, Black Panther is already poised to be the MCU’s next big hit.

Directed by Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station, Creed), Black Panther will be the MCU’s first solo outing starring a person of color as the lead and touts an all-star cast that includes: Chadwick Boseman, Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan, Forest Whitaker, Florence Kasumba, Letitia Wright and Daniel Kaluuya, just to name a few.

Black Panther is set to claw its way into theaters during Black History Month on February 16, 2018.
