Disney Channel star Dove Cameron is staying in the family when she joins the cast of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD in season five.
Anyone with kids in the family knows Cameron from the comedy Liv & Maddie, where she starred as the titular twins, or from the wildly successful Descendants films, where she is Maleficient’s daughter Mal.

The actress almost made the announcement on Instagram where she was interrupted by Clark Gregg’s Agent Coulson. However, Agents of SHIELD’s official Twitter page confirmed the news when it also posted the short teaser.
To start its fifth season the team will be stuck on a mysterious spaceship fighting an alien. There is no word on how long this segment of the story will last, or if Cameron will be involved in the team’s outer space adventures or a future plot.
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD premieres its fifth season Friday, Dec. 1 with a special two hour episode at 8 pm on ABC.
