Apple TV+ has unveiled the first look at Dope Thief, its upcoming crime drama series set to premiere globally on March 14, 2025.

Created and executive produced by Peter Craig (The Batman, Top Gun: Maverick), directed and executive produced by Ridley Scott (Gladiator II, Blade Runner), and starring Academy Award-nominee Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta, Causeway), Dope Thief promises to deliver a gritty and suspenseful story inspired by Dennis Tafoya’s acclaimed novel.

Set in Philadelphia, Dope Thief follows two lifelong friends and petty criminals who impersonate DEA agents to carry out small-time robberies. However, their latest heist inadvertently exposes a massive hidden narcotics corridor on the Eastern seaboard, propelling them into a dangerous web of crime, betrayal, and survival.

Dope Thief‘s Star-Studded Ensemble Cast

Joining Brian Tyree Henry in this series is a powerhouse ensemble cast that includes Wagner Moura (Narcos, Civil War), Marin Ireland (The Umbrella Academy), Kate Mulgrew (Star Trek: Prodigy), Nesta Cooper (See), Amir Arison (The Blacklist), and Golden Globe-winner Ving Rhames (Mission: Impossible franchise).

The series also marks a reunion of creative titans, with Ridley Scott directing the first episode and serving as an executive producer alongside Craig and others. The production comes from Apple Studios in partnership with Scott Free Productions.

Dope Thief‘sGlobal Premiere & Weekly Releases

The series will debut on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes premiering on Friday, March 14, followed by weekly releases every Friday through April 25.

Looking at the combination of award-winning talent and storytelling, this series is positioned to be one of Apple TV+’s standout originals in 2025.
