There have been rumors that Jeremy Renner will be seen in Marvel’s upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp film and director, Peyton Reed spoke out about the stories via Twitter.
Reed (who also directed Ant-Man), is back to helm the much anticipated adventures of Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne later next year but took to Twitter to shutdown the Hawkeye rumors. His tweet said:
The Russians are swarm-tweeting that Hawkeye is in ANT-MAN AND THE WASP. #FakeNews

With the film in pre-production, Reed most likely knows better than most who is in the film and who may be making a cameo (if there are any at all). However, this wouldn’t be the first time a director used some misdirection to throw fans off the rumor trail.
