With the next instalment of the Bond franchise on its way, directed by Cary Fukunaga, the official cast of the film was released today – including some of our favourite characters, as well as some brand new faces to the Bond films.

While some the details of the film are still being kept under wraps, what we do know is that recent Academy Award winner, Rami Malek, is slated to play the latest villain to Daniel Craig’s James Bond.

Rounding out the cast of newcomers alongside Malek are Captain Marvel star, Lashana Lynch, Blade Runner 2049‘s Ana de Armas, Date Night‘s Billy Magnussen, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy‘s David Dencik, and Dali Benssalah.

The familiar faces from past Bond flicks include Naomie Harris returning as Moneypenny, Ben Whishaw reprising his role as Q, Lea Seydoux is back as Spectre‘s, Dr. Madelaine Swann, Jeffrey Wright is back as Felix Leiter, and of course Ralph Fiennes is back as M.

During the press conference held for the event, a brief synopsis of the film was shared with Bond beginning the film as an agent who is no longer in active service. However, Bond’s is dragged back into the fray when his friend from the CIA, Felix Leiter (Wright), seeks out Bond’s help to find a kidnapped scientist. Confirmed locations for the film include Jamaica, Norway, London and Italy.

With a script penned by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and Scott Z. Burns, the untitled Bond 25 film is slated for release on April 8, 2020.
