Though she was an adversary in Guardians of the Galaxy, Nebula actually ended up joining the team to fight Ego in Vol. 2.
She and her adopted sister Gamora worked out their rivalry when Nebula revealed that their father Thanos had painfully enhanced Nebula each time she lost a battle to Gamora.
In the end they reconciled and Nebula set out on a quest to exact revenge on the Mad Titan.
Actress Karen Gillan said to expect to learn even more about Nebula’s tragic past in Avengers: Infinity War.
“Without giving away any spoilers, we’re definitely going to continue the arc for Nebula and find out more about her past,” Gillan explained at a recent appearance at Florida SuperCon. “And actually, we’re going to find out that it’s even worse than we know.”
Gillan also revealed that Nebula will finally come face to face with her adopted father.
“We’re going to see her confront all of it.” said Gillan. “It’s going to be like an emotional explosion.”
Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters May 4, 2018 and stars the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange and Black Panther facing off against the Mad Titan Thanos as he tries to get all the Infinity Stones for the Infinity Gauntlet.
