Anya Taylor-Joy is reteaming with director Robert Eggers with his cinematic take on Nosferatu.

Sources told Variety that Taylor-Joy is currently negotiating to star in Studio 8’s remake of the classic vampire film.
“Eggers is writing and directing the pic. The 1922 silent movie followed the vampire Count Orlok of Transylvania, who wants to buy a house in Germany and becomes enamored of the real-estate agent’s wife. It was an unofficial adaptation of Bram Stoker’s “Dracula,” and Werner Herzog directed a 1979 remake.”
Eggers is currently working on The Knight for Studio 8, a film about Rasputin a Russian mystic who had great political power during Tsar Nicholas II’s reign.

Eggers and Taylor-Joy first teamed up with for critical hit The Witch. Eggers wanted to reteam with Taylor-Joy on the film early in the process, but that has been difficult after she became a highly sought after actress after starring in M. Night Shyamalan’s Split. She will be starring in X-Men’s New Mutants, and the sequel to Split, Glass.
Taylor-Joy is quickly becoming a household name and a genre film like this will surly solidify her status as gothic-horror queen in Hollywood.
