Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the world premiere and press junket for Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).
During the junket, I was able to sit down with cast members Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Ella Jay Basco (Cassandra Cain) and Chris Messina (Victor Zsasz). The trio spoke about their on-set dynamic, Robbie’s role as both a producer and actor, and the mentor/mentee relationship between Harley and Cassandra.

Harley Quinn (Robbie) and the Joker broke up and while that’s good news for Harley, it also puts a target on her back. On the run from a plethora of enemies, including dangerous crime lord, Roman Sionis a.k.a. Black Mask (Ewan McGregor) and his right-hand man, Victor Zsasz (Messina), Harley ends up with an unlikely tag-along in Cassandra Cain (Basco) and a trio of badass women who are also looking for emancipation in Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), Dinah Lance a.k.a. Huntress (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and Helena Bertinelli a.k.a. Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead).
