The WWII inspired tactical RPG is back with a new cast and a few new tricks. The trailer for Valkyria Chronicles 4‘ shows off everything that was loved about previous entries, along with a few new features.
The trailer was shown off as part of a 3-hour live stream, which also included over 40 minutes of gameplay. Maintaining the familiar watercolor-like storybook aesthetic, the trailer highlights new weapons and tactics to implement in dominating the Imperial army.
Revealed in the trailer were environmental effects, a new stage mechanic which adds obstacles such as fire and blizzards to block off portions of the map.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 Is set for release on March 21, 2018, for PlayStation 4 in Japan with a Switch release following that Summer. A western release has been announced for 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch but a release window has yet to be set.
