Interview: Quintessa Swindell Talks ‘Black Adam’, Playing Cyclone & Working With The Rock At SDCC
San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) has returned after being on break for about three years. In my time at SDCC, I had the chance to attend some excellent panels, including the WB one, which showed new footage of Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
During the Black Adam segment, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made an electrifying entrance to get things started and welcomed the other cast members. Joining him were Aldis Hodge (Hawkman), Noah Centineo (Atom Smasher), and Quintessa Swindell (Cyclone), who referred to their role as Cyclone Swindell as “one of the biggest honors” of their life.
Swindell plays Maxine Hunkel, a.k.a. Cyclone, who is the granddaughter of Red Tornado, giving her the power to control wind and sound and the ability to spin to create cyclones. After the panel, I chatted with Swindell on the press carpet.
When I chatted with Swindell, they spoke about their initial reaction to seeing their character with all the visual effects. Swindell also talked about working with The Rock and other cast members. Lastly, they briefly spoke about their hopes for future projects in the DC universe.
