Interview: Aldis Hodge Talks ‘Black Adam’, Preparing For Hawkman & The Justice Society Of America At SDCC

San Diego Comic-Con has returned after being on break for about three years. I had the chance to attend and witness some excellent panels, including the Warner Bros. DC one, which showed new footage of Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of the Gods.

During the Black Adam section, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made an electrifying entrance to get things started and welcomed the other cast members. Joining him was Aldis Hodge (Hawkman), Noah Centineo (Atom Smasher) and Quintessa Swindell (Cyclone). In Black Adam, Hodge plays Carter Hall, a.k.a. Hawkman, an archaeologist and reincarnated Egyptian prince who is also the leader of the Justice Society of America.

Following the on-stage event, I spoke to Hodge about his role as the Hawkman. During the chat, Hodge spoke about his reaction to his casting and what it was like seeing himself in the full costume for the first time. In addition, Hodge talked about his training to ensure he did justice to the character’s physicality. Lastly, he said he’d like to do a Hawkman spin-off film and that he knows who would play his Hawkgirl.

Check out the interview with Aldis Hodge below:

Black Adam Official Synopsis

Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the Egyptian gods — and imprisoned just as quickly — Black Adam is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.
