Interview: Idris Elba Talks ‘Sonic Movie 2’, Stepping Into The Role Of Knuckles & Potential Spin-off Show
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is still killing it at the box office, and rightfully so. The sequel is now the highest-grossing video game movie ever in the U.S, surpassing the original Sonic film in the process. Also worth noting that the film hasn’t even released in Japan yet so expect another increase in box office take over for the video game film.
In the sequel, Sonic isn’t alone anymore, he has his buddy Tails who was introduced at the end of the first film but not only was Tails in this film, Knuckles also made his debut in the sequel. Knuckles is as strong as Sonic is fast, so it was only right to get somebody who could bring power to the voice and that is Idris Elba.
We recently got to chat with Elba about stepping into the role of Knuckles the Echidna and his hopes for the character in the future including the spin-off show happening on Paramount+.
