Ben Schwartz And James Marsden Talk ‘Sonic The Hedgehog 2’, Hopes For ‘Sonic 3’ & More
Sonic The Hedgehog 2 is almost here!
Leading up to the film’s theatrical release, I had the opportunity to interview the cast to discuss the latest installment to the franchise. I sat down with Ben Schwartz who voices Sonic and James Marsden who plays in the films.
Marsden started off by sharing his excitement in returning for the sequel and how much it means to him that the fans loved the first one. Schwartz then discussed what it was like working with Idris Elba and Colleen O’Shaughnessey, and seeing Knuckles and Tails on the big screen.
At the end of the first movie, Tom and Maddie (portrayed by Tika Sumpter) bring Sonic into the family officially, so Marsden spoke about how Tom has a more paternal role in the sequel. Lastly, Schwartz spoke about Easter eggs that can be found within the movie, his hope for Sonic as they get ready for the third movie, and the Knuckles spin-off series.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Official Synopsis
The world’s favorite blue hedgehog is back for a next-level adventure in Sonic The Hedgehog 2. After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is eager to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero. His test comes when Dr. Robotnik returns, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search for an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.
