Interview: Henry Golding Talks ‘Snake Eyes’, Training For The Role & More

The highly anticipated G.I. Joe origin film Snake Eyes makes its way to theaters this Friday!

Last week, I had the chance to sit down with some of the cast of the film. In the first interview we sat down with Snake Eyes himself, Henry Golding to discuss his new movie.

During our conversation, Golding spoke about what it was like stepping into the role of the iconic warrior. Golding also talked about how it felt to have G.I. Joe writer and creator Larry Hama give his approval on their approach to the character.

Although Golding is no stranger to rom-coms like Crazy Rich Asians and Last Christmas, this was the first time he’s really had to train for a role. He discussed the process and how it was so different but so rewarding. We then spoke about his co-star Andrew Koji and how they built that brotherly chemistry. Lastly, Golding expressed his interest in a potential Transformers crossover movie in the future.

Check out the interview with Henry Golding below:

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins stars Henry Golding as Snake Eyes, a tenacious loner who is welcomed into an ancient Japanese clan called the Arashikage after saving the life of their heir apparent. Upon arrival in Japan, the Arashikage teach Snake Eyes the ways of the ninja warrior while also providing something he’s been longing for: a home. But, when secrets from his past are revealed, Snake Eyes’ honor and allegiance will be tested – even if that means losing the trust of those closest to him.
