Teyonah Parris Says We Will Learn “A lot” About Monica Rambeau In ‘WandaVision’
WandaVision is almost here!
Two years ago (when the world was somewhat sane), it was announced at SDCC that Teyonah Parris would portray Monica Rambeau in the series and we could not have been more excited! Leading up to the premiere, critics had the chance to watch the first three episodes of the series (check out my reaction right here).
I also had the chance to attend a virtual press conference with the cast and crew from the series. The panel was hosted by legend, Jaleel White.
- Elizabeth Olsen (“Wanda Maximoff”)
- Paul Bettany (“Vision”)
- Teyonah Parris (“Monica Rambeau”)
- Kathryn Hahn (“Agnes”)
- Matt Shakman (Director)
- Jac Schaeffer (Head writer)
- Kevin Feige (Producer)
Check out Teyonah Parris’ response below:
Jaleel White: Tiana. Welcome to the MCU! Can you tell us about Monica and her character?
Parris: Thank you! We met Monica in Captain Marvel as a little girl, and basically in WandaVision we pick up with who she is now as a grown woman. Oh, and through the course of the show, we find out what she’s been up to and what’s happened for her between that gap in the years, and how she’s grown and evolved or not and we just follow her along.
White: And can you give us a hint of where we will see her again in November of 2022?
Parris: Sure for you. Of course. I will just for you. We will get to see Monica join Carol Danvers, Captain Marvel and Miss Marvel in Captain Marvel 2!
Parris was also asked to talk about what Monica has been up to since we last saw her as a kid:
Parris: Monica has definitely been through some things and seen some things. And it’s actually really cool that you bring that up because we actually do get to learn, particularly what those things are that Monica has seen and gone through and how they have shaped her life. So I don’t want to give too much away because we will actually touch on a lot through the course of the show.

Coming soon to Disney+, Marvel Studios’ captivating new series WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, and marks the first series from Marvel Studios streaming exclusively on Disney+.
