Interview: Stanley Tucci and Daveed Diggs talk Apple TV+’s New Series ‘Central Park’

Stanley Tucci and Daveed Diggs are voicing elderly women in Apple TV+’s Central Park. Yes, You read that correctly.

Central Park was created, written and executive produced by Emmy Award-winner Loren Bouchard (Bob’s Burgers), alongside Grammy Award-winner Josh Gad (Frozen) and Emmy Award-winner Nora Smith (Bob’s Burgers).

The story follows the Tillermans, a family that lives in Central Park. Owen, the park manager, and Paige, his journalist wife, raise their kids Molly and Cole in the world’s most famous park while fending off hotel heiress Bitsy Brandenham and her long-suffering assistant Helen, who would love nothing more than to turn the park into condos.

The voice cast for the series includes Josh Gad, Leslie Odom, Jr., Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn, Tituss Burgess, Daveed Diggs and Stanley Tucci. During these crazy times, the upcoming animated series will definitely put a smile on your face.

In my first interview I sat down with Stanley Tucci and Daveed Diggs who voice Bitsy and Helen. During our virtual chat, the duo discussed what it was like voicing the two women, the process of tweaking their voices and what it was like to record a musical animated series. Diggs also spoke about Hamilton coming to Disney+ and Tucci jokingly talked about his viral video and gave me some advice on a drinking series I’ve been thinking about creating.

Central Park will be available to stream this Friday on Apple TV.
