The Season Two Premiere of ‘Harley Quinn’ Keeps the Laughs Coming – Review
Harley Quinn (Kaley Cuoco) is back at it again in season two of DC Universe’s animated Harley Quinn series. Gotham is in a new state of upheaval with the Joker (Alan Tudyk) defeated and Batman (Diedrich Bader) nowhere to be found. Enter: The Injustice League – Bane (James Adomian), Mr. Freeze (Alfred Molina), Penguin (Wayne Knight), Riddler (Jim Rash) and Two-Face (Andy Daly). While they’re trying to put their mark on Gotham City, Quinn is trying to keep what’s hers with the help of her friends and allies Poison Ivy (Lake Bell), Clayface (Tudyk), Doctor Psycho (Tony Hale), King Shark (Ron Funches) and Sy Borgman (Jason Alexander).
Even though Ivy is trying her best to get Harley to be more serious when she stakes her claim, it doesn’t take long for Harley and friends to be surrounded by some goons sent over by the Injustice League. However, without a clear leader, even the villains that are left seem to lack true purpose. This is something that Harley can use to her advantage if she jumps in at the right time – but will she? Well, you’ll just have to watch the season two premiere and see for yourself.

Much like the first season, Harley Quinn shines with its comedy. Once more it feels effortless and this is just one episode in. As per usual, the voice cast is pitch perfect in all their respective roles and I cannot wait to see what else they have for the viewers as the season progresses. While the premiere episode ended on a high note, certainly leaving the series open for a stellar season two, it did make me wonder just what other shenanigans Harley & Co. will get up this time around. All I know is that I’m more than excited to see what happens next. It very much looks like we will get a lot of back-and-forth between Harley and the Injustice League, and I’m hoping we get to see her face-off with each member of the Injustice League individually just for the amount of tomfoolery that would likely ensue.
With Gotham dealing with anarchy will Harley take full control of the city? Will the Caped Crusader ever return? Did King Shark actually see Beyonce, or is it just Mr. Freeze? These are all questions that I’m excited to see answered when new episodes of Harley Quinn are released. Having just watched one episode, I already feel as though this new season will be just as good as the first. Here’s hoping for more badassery and fun!
Be sure to check out the second season of Harley Quinn when it premieres on DC Universe April 3!
