Eva Longoria Bastón is set to produce, direct, and star in Universal comedy 24-7.
Longoria Bastón is producing under her UnbeliEVAble Entertainment banner alongside Ben Spector. Kerry Washington, who is attached to co-star, will co-produce via Simpson Street. Paul Feig, a Universal staple, is also producing with producing partner Jessie Henderson through FeigCo Entertainment.
The story follows a group of women accountants who band together against their male counterparts in order to solve a fraud case that will save their jobs. The film is said to be in the vain of the classic workplace comedy, 9 to 5. Sarah Rothschild scripted the film.
Longoria Bastón cut her directing teeth on the television scene with multiple episodes of Black-ish, Jane the Virgin, The Mick, and Telenovela. 24-7 will be her first foray into feature filmmaking.
Longoria Bastón just wrapped filming Paramount’s live-action Dora the Explorer, where she plays Dora’s mother. Washington is currently performing on Broadway in American Son, which will run through January.
