Ana De Armas Joins Rian Johnson Thriller ‘Knives Out’
Ana de Armas is joining Rian Johnson’s new thriller Knives Out. Johnson is assembling an all-star cast that includes Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Lakeith Stanfield and Michael Shannon.
Shooting is slated to begin next month on the modern-day murder mystery which has Craig and Stanfield starring as detectives. Plot and character details for the other actors are being kept under wraps.
Johnson wrote the script, and is producing with longtime partner Ram Bergman. Media Rights Capital is backing the film and is committing upwards of $40 million. Distributors are expected to emerge in the coming months.
De Armas will next be seen in an untitled Danny Boyle film, described as a musical/comedy, with a script from Richard Curtis. She will also be seen in Three Seconds opposite Rosamund Pike and Common, and The Night Clerk, starring alongside Tye Sheridan, Helen Hunt, and John Leguizamo.
After Knives Out, Johnson is expected to dive fully into writing his new Star Wars trilogy, which is separate from the main saga. Johnson will helm the first film and is expected to pass on directing duties to other candidates for the remainder of the trilogy.
