Constance Wu (Crazy Rich Asians, Fresh of the Boat) has joined Jennifer Lopez’s (Second Act, Shades of Blue) Hustlers, which has found its new home at STX Entertainment. The story was inspired by a New York magazine piece called, The Hustlers at Scores.
The Crazy Rich Asians star will be a part of an ensemble of women who will play savvy former strip club employees who band together to get back at their Wall Street clients. Thus far, there is no information about who Wu will play.
In addition to playing the ringleader, Lopez is producing the project with producing partners Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina. Lopez is collaborating with STX Entertainment after Annapurna let go of the project.
Lopez had a great working relationship with STX on her romantic-comedy Second Act, set to be released December 14th, which is why Lopez took the project to them.
STX Entertainment produced/released this year’s action-thriller, Peppermint starring Jennifer Garner, the Oscar-nominated Molly’s Game starring Jessica Chastain, and both Bad Moms and Bad Moms Christmas.
You can catch Wu in Fresh of the Boat currently airing on ABC, or you can still see her in Crazy Rich Asians (which can be found in a theater near you).
