Margot Robbie in Talks to Produce and Star in ‘Barbie’ for Warner Bros.
Barbie has found herself a new home on the Warner Bros. lot, with Margot Robbie is in talks with WB to potentially star and produce. Robbie has a first-look deal with WB through her LuckyChap banner.
Robbie is currently busy assembling her Harley Queen meets Birds of Prey project with Cathy Yan at the helm. Barbie will be the latest in a long line of projects Robbie is attached to star and produce in.

Sony recently had the rights to Barbie and put the project together with Amy Schumer, however, Schumer dropped out. Anne Hathaway was in talks to replace Schumer, but the rights reverted back to Mattel a few months ago. Now, Mattel is looking to partner with Warner Bros. to get the project off the ground.
It is still early days for the project, but sources say that Patty Jenkins might be who WB hopes will helm Barbie. After the success of Wonder Woman and returning to direct the highly anticipated sequel, WB might be eager to not lose Jenkins to another studio.
Robbie can be seen next in Mary Queen of Scots opposite Saoirse Ronan.
