Lilo & Stitch is set to get its very own live-action treatment from Disney.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the live-action reboot will be a live-action/CGI hybrid. However, it is not yet known whether the film is intended for theatrical release or if it will be released on Disney’s streaming service which launches in 2019.

The popular 2002 Disney animated feature was written and directed by Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders, who also directed How to Train Your Dragon.

The live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch will have a script penned by Mike Van Waes and will be produced by Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich – who are currently working on the live-action remake of Aladdin.

One response to “Disney Set to Remake ‘Lilo & Stitch’ in Live-Action”

  1. I love Lilo & Stitch. It’s one of my favourite Disney films and holds a special place with The Emperor’s New Groove for me. I’m intrigued to see how it turns out but this, for me is one of those films that I can’t imagine benefiting from live action. But I’m more than happy to be proven wrong if it means seeing Stitch on the big screen again :).
