Celebrate the 5th Anniversary of TLoU: Outbreak Day with Free Add-Ons & More

Today marks the 5th year since the Cordyceps Brain Infection spread to the point where the United States was forced to declare a state of national emergency. Starting in Austin, Texas the infection quickly provoked a world of panic as rapidly spread nationwide. A solemn day forever commemorated as Outbreak Day.

To honor the 5th anniversary of Outbreak Day, since The Last of Us launched in the Summer of 2013, Naughty Dog wants to celebrate with a collection of TLoU merch, content and, special promotions. The first of these is a gorgeous poster designed by Sam Wolfe Connely. But you have to act fast, for this timed Outbreak Day exclusive will only be available until 9:00 am PT this Saturday, September 29! Continuing their partnership with Mondo from past Outbreak Day celebrations, there will also be a re-release of The Last of Us‘ stunning soundtrack pressed onto a two vinyl set. Making this the first time the set has been available since 2015!

Remember Ellie’s new tattoo from The Last of Us Part II‘s E3 trailer? Well, now you can flaunt it yourself, without even breaking skin! Partnering with Insert Coin Clothing, Naughty Dog has created a gorgeous shirt featuring the mysterious tattoo.

If all of this is sounding a little too rich for your blood, worry not! There are ways to celebrate this 5th return of Outbreak Day without breaking the bank too! To help soothe your anxiety as you impatiently wait for the next installments release, the team wants you to take a breather and listen to “The Last of Us (Cycles)” by Gustavo Santaolalla. You may remember this song from when it was performed live during the E3 conference, however now we have a fully produced studio version for our listening pleasure.

My favorite of the celebratory gifts is The Last of Us Part II dynamic system theme for PS4, which was added to the PlayStation Store today along with a collection of avatars, all of which are available for free until September 27 at 9:00 am PT. Outbreak Day’s final gift to the loving The Last of Us community is a discount for The Last of Us Remastered and The Last of Us DLC lasting until October 2. So hopefully if you aren’t a fan yet, you will be soon!
