PlayStation One Mini Dropping in December 2018
Classic gamers, rejoice! Sony is doing everyone a solid.
Following the example set by Nintendo, Sony is coming out with a mini version of their original PlayStation console.
The console was first released in 1995, and it did pretty well for the first of its family. The mini is said to be 45% smaller than the original. To some people’s disappointment, the AC adaptor will be sold Fitted with an HDMI output, 2 replica controllers, and 20 preloaded classic titles (again. following Nintendo’s formula). Some of the titles that have been revealed to date are Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, Wild Arms, and Final Fantasy VII. Sony has said that the remaining titles will be revealed in the next few months before release.
The PlayStation Classic will release on December 3rd. No coincidence there, that’s the same day it launched in Japan just about 25 years ago. You can pre-order it now at select retailers in the U.S. ($100 USD) and Canada($130 CAN.).
