Writer Todd Stashwick Confirms Completion of ‘Suicide Squad 2’ Script
Apart from a recent reveal regarding who’s scripting the film, news on Suicide Squad 2 has remained scarce for quite some time. The silence certainly seems warranted, though. According to one of the film’s scribes, Todd Stashwick, the script is complete. Yet, no further information can be divulged at this time.
During an interview with Discussing Film, Stashwick was asked whether he could offer an update on Suicide Squad 2’s progress. “We have finished our draft and I’m really proud of it,” Stashwick revealed.
When prodded a bit more about what fans can expect from the sequel, Stashwick responded with the following:
It’s a sequel to the first film. Again, I can’t say anything else. Our intention is to tell an exciting story, deepening these characters.

What characters specifically remains to be seen. Despite Harley Quinn’s going off on an adventure of her own, which will include the Birds of Prey, she’s still expected to appear alongside her fellow Task Force X members. Much of the original cast also seems likely to return; however, details of this nature have yet to receive confirmation.
David Bar Katz and Gavin O’Connor, the latter of whom is directing the project, were also involved in penning Suicide Squad 2’s script. When more information will surface is anyone’s guess.
Warner Bros. has yet to announce a release date for Suicide Squad 2.
