‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Expands to 18-Episode Season on NBC

After the quick turn of events where the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine was cancelled and then renewed within a span of about twenty-four hours, the show found its new home at NBC.  There, the show joined other popular night-time comedy sitcoms such as The Good Place and Superstore.

Created by Mike Schur and Dan Goor, Brooklyn Nine-Nine was slated to have 13 episodes for their sixth season.  The number of episodes is typical for most NBC comedy sitcoms.  Aside from the new home for the show and its cast and crew, the 13-episode season would have been a change of pace from the series’ original 22-episode seasons while on FOX.  However, NBC has now added five more episodes for the show’s first season on its new network.

The cop comedy sitcom stars Andy Samberg, Melissa Fumero, Terry Crews, Joe Lo Truglio, Stephanie Beatriz, Chelsea Peretti, Dirk Blocker, Joel McKinnon Miller, and Andre Braugher.
