Recap: Fan Expo Canada 2018
Another year and another Fan Expo whirlwind has passed us by and much like our first year in attendance at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre last year, 2018’s convention was just as fun! This year had a little of everything for everyone interested in various types of fandom; with a heavier emphasis on gaming than we saw last year, with the impending arrival of games like Spider-Man for PS4.

This year, the con boasted celebrities like Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Evangeline Lilly (Ant-Man and the Wasp), Karen Gillan (Dr. Who, Avengers: Infinity War), Michael J. Fox (Back to the Future), Sonequa Martin-Green (Star Trek: Discovery), Emma Dumont (The Gifted), Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna Earp), Amy Jo Johnson (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), Jason David Frank (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), Rose McIver (iZombie) and Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess), just to name a few!

The group of comic book creators that they had this year was on point as well! Some of the creators in attendance this year were John Byrne (X-Men, Wonder Woman), Brian Stelfreeze (Black Panther), Ken Lashley (X-Men Gold), Scott Snyder (Justice League), Greg Capullo (Dark Nights: Metal), Tom King (Batman), Meredith Finch (Rose, Wonder Woman), David Finch (Batman, Wonder Woman), Marjorie Liu (Monstress), Peter Steigerwald (Aspen Comics), Sana Takeda (Monstress), Humberto Ramos (Amazing Spider-Man), and more!

The selection of celebrities and comic creators this year was great, and even with some cancellations that included Jeff Goldblum, it was definitely still a great roundup of fan favourites and great panels, including panels with Evangeline Lilly, the cast of Star Trek: Discovery and a sneak-peek of Ralph Breaks the Internet with the film’s producer, Clark Spencer – with some very special fans receiving an exclusive signed lithograph from Spencer.

Of course, one highlight of Fan Expo Canada is always the cosplay and this year, many guests in attendance had costumes that were definitely on point! Check out some of cosplay that we saw throughout the four days of Fan Expo Canada below:
