Sega Announces ‘Streets of Rage 4’
Fans of Streets of Rage have been waiting quite a long time – 25 years to be exact – for the next installment in the series, and the wait is officially over.
Streets of Rage 4 is currently in development by Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games. Publisher DotEmu released a trailer showing off the game’s design and that protagonists Axel Stone and Blaze Fielding will be returning for the new installment.
The trailer for the game can be seen below:
Streets Of Rage was Sega’s venture into the “beat-em-up” genre, ala Final Fight. The three previous games were on Genesis and were pretty successful before fading out along with the genre itself. A recent spike in the revival of 2D games is the expected reason for the game’s comeback along with the return of other popular games such as Double Dragon.
