The Warner Bros. distributed rom-com is looking to gain $30 million within the next few days. By the time Labor Day is over, Crazy Rich Asians will have domestically surpassed $100 million. With an estimated three week domestic total of $119 million, it will surpass Girls Trip ($117 million) in being the most financially successful comedy in two years. It will also be considered the most successful modern rom-com.
The film will also join Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle as the fourth film in 2018 to hold the number one spot at the box office for three weeks in a row.
