‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Getting New Series of Original Novels
Avatar: The Last Airbender is one of the most celebrated modern animated series that just keeps on giving. Fans of the Nickelodeon show never wasted time when it came to diving into the original three seasons, sequel series The Legend of Korra, and numerous graphic novels and comics that fill in the gaps left by both shows. There is always, of course, the live-action film that many fans would like to forget about. However, the time to rejoice has arrived yet again for Entertainment Weekly have just revealed that the Avatar universe will continue to expand with a new series of young adult novels!
Nickelodeon has partnered with Abrams Children’s Books on a series based on Avatar Kyoshi. Fans will recognize the name as being the longest living human Avatar at over 230 years old hailing from the Earth Kingdom. She would be succeeded by Avatar Roku and Aang. Not only has she been briefly seen in the animated series before, but her legacy has been felt with the fan favorite Kyoshi Warrior characters on Kyoshi Island. There is still much mystery to her left and it will all begin to unravel in the first book titled The Rise of Kyoshi.
