Release Date for ‘Spyro Reignited’ Trilogy Pushed Back

It was announced back in April that the long-awaited Spyro Reignited trilogy would be released in September for PS4 and Xbox One, but unfortunately, we’ve just gotten word that the game has been pushed back.

The new release for the beloved purple dragon will ow be in November and according to Paul Yan, the co-studio head at the game’s developer, Toys for Bob. Yan said that the Spyro Reignited trilogy still needs “more love and care”:

“Everyone here at Toys for Bob is so proud to be reigniting the original Spyro trilogy after all these years. We’re deeply committed to getting these games right, so we’ve decided to move the release date of Spyro Reignited Trilogy to November 13, 2018. I really hoped that you would be rescuing dragons and scorching Rhynocs sooner, but the Trilogy needs more love and care. In November when you’re exploring the Dragon Realms, Avalar and the Forgotten Worlds, we know you’ll agree the extra time was worth the wait.”

The collection is expected to include the first three games in the series (Spyro the DragonSpyro 2: Ripto’s RageSpyro: Year of the Dragon) as well as new additions such as a remastered soundtrack, new lighting, new analog stick controls and reimagined graphics.

Retail copies of the game will ship with only the first Spyro the Dragon game while the rest of the trilogy will be available as a download.

Are you saddened by the pushback or are you happy that Toys for Bob is taking the extra time to make the games as awesome as possible? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
