Hans Zimmer Returning to DC to Score ‘WW84’
Wonder Woman 84′ just gained a huge name in its crew. No, it is not another addition to the already star-filled cast, but instead who will be composing the score for the film. Fans of the recent slew of DC films will be pleased knowing that Hans Zimmer is coming back to score WW84. The news was broken by Film Music Reporter earlier in the week and has since left fans even more eager than before.
Zimmer is no stranger to comic book films for he scored The Dark Knight trilogy, Man of Steel, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The theme he created for Wonder Woman in BvS (that guitar riff that has been beaten into your memory) was heavily integrated into her solo film last year. However, Zimmer scoring WW84 will grant him the title of scoring entire films for Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. It will probably be decades before anyone else can reach a similar title.

In 2016 Zimmer stated that he was retiring from scoring superhero movies. Almost everyone understood this decision considering his long superhero resume with Warner Bros. Earlier in the year news broke that he was ending this short-lived retirement with him scoring the upcoming X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Why tackle another comic book film with WW84? Looking back on his words during an interview with Inverse in early 2017 sheds some light.
Ron Howard actually said something very smart to me. He said, “Don’t say you will never do a superhero movie again. Wait for somebody to turn up with an amazing script for a superhero movie.” And I suppose that’s what I’m saying: Can I please have the amazing script?
Take his words as you will, but this should definitely add more fuel for your hype for WW84.
