O’Shea Jackson Jr. joins the cast of Destin Daniel Cretton‘s legal drama, Just Mercy. Jackson will be joining Michael B. Jordan (who also produces), Brie Larson and Jamie Foxx.

The film is based on true events and follows Stevenson (Jordan) on his first case, as he defends wrongly accused Walter McMillan (Jamie Foxx) from death row. Stevenson, the founder of the Equal Justice Initiative, has dedicated his career to fighting for those wrongly accused or convicted of crimes they did not commit.

Production is expected to begin next month in Atlanta. 

Jackson starred in Den of Thieves which was released earlier this year and is now available on Netflix. Catch him next in Godzilla: King Of The Monsters which hits theatres May 31, 2019.
