Mary J. Blige Joins Season 3 of MTV’s Reworked ‘Scream’
If you’re a fan of MTV’s Scream, you’re in for a treat!
Grammy winner and actress Mary J. Blige has recently joined the cast of Scream for season 3, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Blige will be playing Sherry Elliot, the mother of the lead character Deion Elliot, played by RJ Cyler. Season 3 will indeed focus on Deion, a star running back for his high school’s football team. His past comes back to haunt him, threatening his future and the lives of his friends. The season will also take place in Atlanta.
The series will continue off the back of the first two seasons, but will feature an entirely new cast and will pick up an anthology format. The third season will run as a three-night, six-episode event.
Blige will be joining the cast alongside Keke Palmer, Tyler Posey, Tyga, Giorgia Whigham, Jessica Sula, C.J. Wallace and Giullian Yao Gioiello.
